- IP addresses or geolocation data
- Entered Silent Payment addresses
- Bitcoin transaction data or wallet information
- Browser fingerprints or device IDs

4. Website Analytics with Plausible Analytics
To improve our service, we use Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly web analytics service.
What is Plausible?
Plausible is an open-source alternative to Google Analytics, specifically designed for privacy. Plausible:
- Sets no cookies
- Stores no IP addresses
- Creates no user profiles
- Is fully GDPR compliant without consent
- Is hosted in the EU (privacy compliant)
What Data Does Plausible Collect?
Plausible only captures anonymous statistics:
- Page views: Which pages are visited
- Referrer: From which website visitors come (e.g., Google, Twitter)
- Country: Rough geographic region (based on timezone, not IP)

5. Technically Necessary Data
When using our activation service, the following data is processed technically:
In Browser (Client-side)
- Entered SP Address: Only validated in the browser, never sent to servers
- Transaction Data: Only used locally for PayJoin construction
During PayJoin Transaction
Activation is done via Bitcoin PayJoin protocol (BIP-78). In this process:
- Transaction data is only processed temporarily in RAM
- No connection between your identity and the transaction is stored
- Everything happens atomically without persistent storage
Important: After successful activation, all temporary data is immediately deleted from RAM. No traces remain on our servers.
6. Bitcoin Blockchain
Please note: After activation, your transaction is visible on the public Bitcoin blockchain. This is the nature of Bitcoin and is independent of BTCSilent. The blockchain contains:
- Transaction ID (TXID)
- Bitcoin addresses (sender and receiver)
- Amounts and timestamps
However, the PayJoin protocol improves privacy by making common chain analysis heuristics more difficult.
7. Hosting & Servers
Our website and services are hosted in Switzerland with a European provider with GDPR-compliant data protection standards.
Server Location: Switzerland / EU
Data Protection Level: Swiss Data Protection Act (DSG) and EU-GDPR
8. SSL/TLS Encryption
This website uses SSL/TLS encryption for security reasons and to protect the transmission of content. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from "http://" to "https://".
9. Your Rights (GDPR)
Although we do not store personal data, you generally have the following rights:
- Access (Art. 15 GDPR): You can request information about your stored data
- Rectification (Art. 16 GDPR): You can request the correction of incorrect data
- Erasure (Art. 17 GDPR): You can request the deletion of your data
- Objection (Art. 21 GDPR): You can object to the processing of your data
- Complaint: You can complain to a data protection authority
Important: Since BTCSilent does not store personal data, we cannot provide data in response to access requests – because none exists.
