Use of BTCSilent is at your own risk. Bitcoin transactions are irreversible. Please read these terms carefully before using the service.
1. Scope
These Terms of Service govern the use of the BTCSilent service, operated by WiLD3 T.M. Wild, Clavadi 4, 7464 Parsonz, Switzerland.
By using BTCSilent, you accept these Terms of Service in full. If you do not agree with these terms, please do not use the service.
2. Service Description
BTCSilent provides a technical service for activating BIP-352 Silent Payment addresses using atomic PayJoin (BIP-78) protocol.
How It Works
- You enter your sp1 Silent Payment address
- BTCSilent generates a one-time Bitcoin address for payment
- You send the specified amount to this address
- BTCSilent constructs an atomic PayJoin transaction
- The activation transaction is sent to your SP address
What BTCSilent is NOT
- Not a wallet service or custody service
- Not financial advice or investment recommendation
- Not a payment service provider in the regulatory sense
- No guarantee of availability or functionality

4. Risks and Disclaimer
Bitcoin-Specific Risks
Bitcoin transactions are:
- Irreversible: Once sent, transactions cannot be reversed
- Volatile: Bitcoin price can fluctuate significantly
- Technically complex: Errors can lead to loss of funds
- Regulatory uncertainty: Laws may change
Technical Risks
- Software bugs: Despite careful development, bugs may occur
- Network issues: The Bitcoin network may be congested
- Wallet compatibility: Not all wallets support Silent Payments correctly
- Address errors: An incorrectly entered address leads to loss of funds
PayJoin-Specific Risks
- The PayJoin transaction may fail and your payment will be returned
- Network fees are incurred regardless, even on failure
- Activation may take longer than expected during high network load
Limitation of Liability
BTCSilent is not liable for losses or damages arising from use of the service, including but not limited to: technical errors, network problems, address errors, price fluctuations, or regulatory changes. Use is at your own risk.
5. User Obligations
As a user, you agree to:
- Verify the correctness of your entered SP address
- Only use funds whose loss you can afford
- Comply with local laws and regulations
- Not misuse the service for illegal purposes
- Not attempt manipulated transactions
- Pay appropriate network fees
6. No Warranties
BTCSilent is provided "as is". We provide no warranties for:
- Service availability (99.9% uptime, etc.)
- Successful activation within a specific time
- Compatibility with all wallets
- Error-free service
- Future functionality
7. Service Interruptions
BTCSilent may interrupt or discontinue the service at any time for:
- Maintenance
- Technical issues
- Regulatory requirements
- Business decisions
We are not obligated to offer the service permanently and may discontinue it without notice.
8. Fees
The activation cost consists of:
- Activation amount: The amount sent to your SP address
- Network fee: Bitcoin transaction fee (variable)
- Service fee: Fee for the BTCSilent service
Exact fees are displayed before payment. All fees are in Bitcoin (BTC).
No refunds: Due to the nature of Bitcoin transactions, fees cannot be refunded, even if activation fails.
9. Privacy and "No KYC"
BTCSilent does not collect personal data and does not perform KYC checks. This means:
- We don't know who you are
- We cannot help if you lose your wallet keys
- We cannot reverse transactions
- We don't have "customer support" capabilities like traditional financial services

10. Intellectual Property
BTCSilent's source code is open source and available under the appropriate license on GitHub. Trademark rights, design, and certain content remain with WiLD3 T.M. Wild.
11. Applicable Law
These Terms of Service are governed by Swiss law. Place of jurisdiction is Bern, Switzerland.
If individual provisions of these terms should be invalid, the validity of the remaining provisions remains unaffected.
12. Anti-Money Laundering (AML)
BTCSilent is a technical service and not a financial institution. We do not conduct AML checks. Users are responsible for compliance with all applicable anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing laws in their jurisdiction.
We reserve the right to refuse service if we suspect it is being used for illegal purposes.
13. Changes to Terms
We reserve the right to change these Terms of Service at any time. Changes will be posted on this page. Continued use after a change constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
